Description

Zohra Salon specializes in hair, manicures and pedicures, waxing, facials, and has an extended barber shop area for men.  His team consists of approximately 20 individuals, all of whom he encourages to be knowledgable, reliable and consistent in their work.  His mission is to bring the latest techniques, products and services to his clients as well as being aware of their unique individual needs.

 Corporate Responsibility

Zohra considers itself to be a salon invested in its community, always participating in local charities such as those amongst and within nearby schools, for the police and fire departments, or allowing job training programs for special needs students to observe and learn within his salon about the business to gain valuable insight about the real world.

One event that Zohra owner Ofeer Marwani has been engaged in for the past two years is called Cars & Cuts, which benefits children with chronic health issues.  The car show attracts individuals in the local community to either bring their car for show or come to see the cars on display.  Food vendors like Mama Lucia’s, California Tortilla, and the Beanbag Deli also participate by donating their time to provide free food to help support and draw the crowd.  To add to the food and cars, two or three hairstylists provide hair cuts in the back of a pick-up truck, with all proceeds from services also going towards the charitable donation.

Occasionally Zohra’s owner will also go to the local homeless shelter and provide complimentary hair cuts as a means to boost morale and help folks more presentable in situations that could yield opportunities. Zohra’s owner feels very blessed personally but also in his business and amongst his team, and it is this sense of gratitude that he infuses with his staff, his clients, and the local community that sets a great tone and promotes positive energy.

CR Story

When discussing his business in almost any kind of setting, Zohra’s owner utilizes “we” and “us” more than “me” or “I,” putting the emphasis on the team-oriented culture that exists at Zohra.  Marwani makes sure to listen to customers and employees, an approach reflective of his genuine investment in their well-being.  Through listening he strives to develop each individual on his team to their fullest potential, pushing them to reach for more in their career valuing bringing out the best in everyone.   As a generous and positive individual himself, Ofeer infuses this characteristic into the salon’s overall essence.  Other characteristics of the business include ensuring that employees have passion for the work they do, possess drive and ambition, and think creatively.
